Arnaud Ele

Photography & Creative Direction

Arnaud Ele is a Cameroon-born, France- and Switzerland-raised filmmaker and visual artist. He studied filmmaking at the Geneva Film School (CH) and began his artistic exploration of identity, territory, and representation after returning to Cameroon in 2015 — his original home, where he spent the first five years of his life.

Arnaud Ele is known not only for his fashion photography, but also for his documentary series in Switzerland and Cameroon, as well as his video collaborations with artists, singers, and dancers from the Berlin and Swiss art scenes. His work continually returns to the theme of intimacy — investigating how people inhabit space, how landscapes and human presence intersect, and how the seemingly mundane conceals layered narratives.

With a filmmaker’s instinct for composition and timing, Ele pushes the boundaries of documentary by blending intuitive image-making with poetic narrative forms. He views the human eye as both recording tool and emotional lens — using intimacy as a mode of description, and photography as a continuation of cinematic storytelling.
